Occupy Teach-In
The first ever Occupy Medford Teach-In will be held on January 7th from 1pm to 4pm in the Medford Library meeting room. A shortened General Assembly will be held from 12 pm to 1pm in the same location. Organizations and individuals from across our community will be speaking on subjects important to Occupy. There will be a number of speakers including:
Robert Doell “Mortage Game”
Nancie Koerber (Good Grief America): “What You Need to Know About the Foreclosure Crisis”
Rich Rhode (Oregon Action): “Democratizing Our Financial System”
Pam Vavra “Legal Defense Training: Police Encounters and Civil Disobedience
Allen Hallmark (CPJ): ”Citizens for Peace and Justice“
Jim King ”How to Affect Change"
Speakers will be given 10-15 minutes to speak and 5-10 minutes for a question and answer session.
We hope you can join us to learn ways we can improve our community.
After this coming Saturday GA, we will resume our normal schedule and time from 12pm to 3pm.
Committee Meetings
Committee meetings have changed location. All future committee meetings will be held on the 2nd floor of the Woolworth building in downtown Medford every Wednesday at 5:30 pm. These committee meetings are open to everyone and decisions are reached through consensus.
To join a committee, receive notes from a previous committee meeting or other questions relating to action, education, finance or outreach, please email occupymedford@gmail.com.
